Netflix has reportedly won a bidding war for an Adam Driver-led hostage drama TV series titled “Rabbit, Rabbit”.
When an escaped convict is cornered by law enforcement at a Southern Illinois truck stop, he takes hostages in an effort to bargain for his freedom.
But the standoff soon escalates into an unmanageable social experiment with his captives, as well as an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI crisis negotiator trained in ‘tactical empathy’.
It’s not clear what Driver’s role is at present. Emmy winner Philip Barantini (“Adolescence”) will direct the project which comes from creator Peter Craig (“Dope Thief,” “The Batman”).
Craig will serve as showrunner on the series and executive produce alongside Driver, Barantini, Bryan Unkeless and Samantha Beddoe.
MRC is backing the project that marks Driver’s second series gig this year – he’s also joining Jessica Chastain in Apple TV+ series “The Dealer”.
