Netflix

Netflix has announced that the sixth and final season of “The Crown” will be split into two parts.

The streamer will release the first four episodes on November 16th, with the remaining six episodes to follow four weeks later on December 14th. Additionally a date announcement teaser for the season has been released and can be seen below.

It continues a recent trend of Netflix splitting up the runs of the most recent seasons of its shows like “Stranger Things” and “The Witcher”.

The final season of the series is expected to cover the years from 1997 to 2005. The first part will cover the relationship between Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) and the 1997 car crash in Paris that killed them.

The second part will include the wedding of Prince Charles (Dominic West) and Camilla Parker Bowles (Olivia Williams) along with focusing on Charles’ sons William (Ed McVey) and Harry (Luther Ford).

The series has pulled in 21 Emmy Awards over its previous five seasons, winning best drama series for its fourth season.
