Netflix has set the cast of two of its big high-profile genre series.

First up, the adaptation of Liu Cixin’s award-winning Chinese book series “The 3-Body Problem” has added twelve names including Jovan Adepo, Benedict Wong, John Bradley, Eiza González, Liam Cunningham, Tsai Chin, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng and Saamer Usmani.

“Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss co-created the series under their Netflix overall deal and will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.

The other series is the Spanish-language, Barcelona-set spin-off of the hit Sandra Bullock-led film “Bird Box”.

Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Diego Calva, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Patrick Criado, Celia Freijeiro with Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner and Leonardo Sbaraglia are all set to star.

Plot details are under wraps but it’s expected to offer a different perspective on the same event in the movie which had creatures that drove people to suicide if they saw them. The project will go into production in November and both Alex and David Pastor will write and direct.
