Chloë Grace Moretz, Riz Ahmed and Eugene Lee Yang are set to lead the voice cast of the Netflix animated film “Nimona” based on ND Stevenson’s graphic novel.
Set in a techno-medieval world, Knight Ballister Boldheart (Ahmed) is framed for a crime and the only person who can help him prove himself innocent is the shape-shifting teen Nimona (Moretz). Trouble is, she also might be the monster he is sworn to kill
Netflix is partnering with Annapurna Pictures on the project which was acquired after originally being set up at 20th Century Fox’s Blue Sky Studios.
The project was scrapped by Disney alongside its shutting down Blue Sky – with the majority of the film completed. With Netflix onboard, the film is being finished and plans to premiere in 2023.
Nick Bruno and Troy Quane (“Spies in Disguise”) directs while Roy Lee, Karen Ryan and Julie Zackary are producing.
