Netflix Sets 2023 Film Release Date Slate

In a surprise move, Netflix has released a 2.5-minute trailer that not only shows off first looks at the various films it has coming in 2023, it announces a bunch of release dates as to when many of these films will hit the service.

The biggest reveals are the first footage from David Fincher’s assassin thriller “The Killer,” Zack Snyder’s sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon,” the Gal Gadot-led action thriller “Heart of Stone,” Millie Bobby Brown’s new period film “Damsel,” Richard LaGravenese’s Kidman/Efron rom-com “A Family Affair,” the Julia Roberts-led psychological thriller “Leave the World Behind,” and F. Gary Gray’s mid-flight heist thriller “Lift”.

There are also official dates for the “Murder Mystery” and “Extraction” sequels and the Emily Blunt and Chris Evans-led “Pain Hustlers” along with a new date for the delayed “They Cloned Tyrone”.

There will be plenty more films than this released in 2023 by the service, but this would appear to be the streamer’s big originals for the year that they’re ready to announce dates for at this time. Those coming in 2023 but not listed in the preview include Wes Anderson’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” short story, Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic “Maestro,” Dev Patel’s “Monkey Man” and the “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget” sequel.
