“Star Trek: Prodigy” has found its saviour – in Netflix.
Following the animated series’ abrupt cancellation and removal from the Paramount+ service in June, the show has scored a new home at Netflix.
The streamer will debut the previously aired entire twenty-episode first season on the service later this year. Then the never before-seen second season will arrive sometime in 2024.
The series was the most high-profile of several titles removed by Paramount+ for cost-cutting measures. At the time it was confirmed the almost complete second season would be finished off and seek a new home.
The show follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future.
Six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered, but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.
The voice cast includes Kate Mulgrew as Hologram Kathryn Janeway, Brett Gray as Dal, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Angus Imrie as Zero, Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf.
