Netflix has confirmed that its TV series adaptation of Michael Connelly’s “The Lincoln Lawyer” has scored a ten-episode second season renewal.

David E. Kelley produced the new take on the author’s character, a Los Angeles lawyer operating out of his car, who was previously adapted onto film with Matthew McConaughey starring.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo takes on the role in the Netflix series with the first season adapting Connelly’s second book “The Brass Verdict”. The new season will adapt the fourth book “The Fifth Witness” and Garcia-Rulfo will be back along with Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole and Angus Sampson.

Dailyn Rodriguez (“Queen of the South”) has boarded the drama as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Ted Humphrey. Kelley is expected to be less involved in the second season.

The series launched on May 13th and has steadily stayed in Netflix’s Global Top 10 with a cumulative 260.53 million hours viewed as of June 5th.

Netflix head of global television Bela Bajaria announced the renewal during her time at the Banff World Media Festival.
