“Bird Box” producers Dylan Clark and Chris Morgan are returning for a Spanish language spin-off of the Sandra Bullock-led 2018 Netflix hit.
The original film was based on the novel by Josh Malerman and set in a world impacted by the sudden arrival of entities who, if seen, drive a person to kill themselves or others around them.
Bullock played a woman who tries to navigate that dangerous world, using a blindfold and caged birds, while also trying to protect a pair of children.
The new project is being fast-tracked with the goal to be in production in Spain, where the story will be set, by the end of the year. Alex and David Pastor, the brothers who penned the sci-fi thrillers “Carriers” (starring Chris Pine,) and “Self/Less” (starring Ryan Reynolds) will write and direct the spin-off.
