“Percy Jackson” author Rick Riordan is developing his Egyptian mythology series “The Kane Chronicles” into several feature films for Netflix. Riordan made the announcement on his social media account and official site on Saturday, promising further news soon.
He adds he’s been working on a deal with Netflix since last October, about the same time he and Disney+ began talks over a potential TV series based on the five Greek mythology-themed “Percy Jackson” novels.
The three “Kane Chronicles” books are another young adult trilogy, this time steeped in Egyptian history and mythology. The story follows teen protagonists Carter and Sadie Kane, who were descended from the Egyptian pharaohs Narmer and Ramses the Great.
