Following heir success with the first season of the “Wu Assassins” series, Netflix has ordered the 90-minute standalone movie “Wu Assassins: Fistful of Vengeance”.
The original show follows a young Chinatown chef in present-day San Francisco who becomes entangled with the Chinese Triad’s pursuit of deadly ancient powers.
He uses his enhanced martial arts skills to recover supernatural powers from five modern-day criminals threatening to use them to destroy the world.
Series stars Iko Uwais, Lewis Tan, Lawrence Kao and JuJu Chan Szeto will return for the new film while Pearl Thusi, Francesca Corney, Jason Tobin, and Rhatha Phongam will also star.
The series could still potentially return for a second season or another standalone story. Cameron Litvack, Jessica Chou, and Yalun Tu are writing the film while Roel Reine will direct with production to take place in Thailand.
