Netflix has handed out an eight-episode series order for the “Cobra Kai” creator’s new high-octane action-comedy series “Obliterated”. The series was previously picked up by TBS with a straight to series order in 2019 only to be subsequently dropped.
The story follows an elite special forces team that thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, the now intoxicated team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a fake and must overcome their personal issues and substance-infused impairments to find the real bomb.
Showrunners Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald will direct much of the eight 45-minute episode run. The project hails from Sony Pictures Television.
