Netflix has handed out a third and fourth season renewal order for Shonda Rhimes’ period drama “Bridgerton”.
The early pickup arrives as the second season, based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels and in particular “The Viscount Who Loved Me,” is in production.
Each of the books focuses on a single member of the eight Bridgerton’s siblings and their quest for love. In the case of the second season, it’s Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).
Rhimes said in a statement: “This two-season pickup is a strong vote of confidence in our work… Betsy and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue bringing the world of Bridgerton to a worldwide audience.”
