Netflix has revealed more details of “Drive” and “Only God Forgives” director Nicolas Winding Refn’s neo-noir thriller series “Copenhagen Cowboy”.
The six-episode drama was filmed in Denmark and follows a young heroine, Miu (Angela Bundalovic), who travels through Copenhagen’s criminal underworld.
The project sees Refn return to his home country to produce a local Danish show after more than fifteen years abroad. Angela Bundalovic, Lola Corfixen and Zlatko Buric will co-star.
Of his experience with the streamer, Refn says: “I not only perceive them as my partners with many future adventures to come, but also as my friends. The new term has been born: Netflix Winding Refn.”
“Copenhagen Cowboy” will launch globally on Netflix later this year.
