Netflix has cancelled its teenage vampire series “First Kill” after a single season.
The scrapping of the show, based on a short story by V. E. Schwab, comes nearly two months after the streamer debuted the eight-episode first season in early June.
The show follows two teenage girls who fall for one another but come from warring families: one a dynasty of vampire hunters, the other a line of bloodsuckers.
Elizabeth Mitchell, Will Swenson, Aubion Wise, Jason Robert Moore, Gracie Dzienny and Dylan McNamara starred.
The decision reportedly came down to a matter of viewing numbers versus cost. Reviews for the show were mixed, though it did garner a dedicated following.
