Netflix has canceled two of its young adult series – “The Society” and “I Am Not Okay With This” – even though both had already received season two renewals.
A Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to The Wrap they’re opted not to proceed with the second seasons and are “disappointed to have to make these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID”.
Scripts for the new seasons were already being written when the cancellation came, and the decisions are said to be based on uncertainty around production dates and unexpected budget increases due to the pandemic.
