Netflix has been swinging the axe this week.
First up, the streamer has scrapped its fashion competition “Next in Fashion” after only a single season. Hosted by Tan France and Alexa Chung, the series featured some of the world’s best, most innovative designers competing for a chance to become the next big name in fashion.
It follows in the wake of Netflix also ditching the sketch comedy “Astronomy Club” after just one season. The series featured eight performers who first formed in 2013 and soon became the first and only all-black house team at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
Netflix has earned a reputation for scrapping single season series this year after “Messiah,” “AJ & the Queen,” “Spinning Out” and “Soundtrack” were also all scrapped. The fate of the recently premiered and critically panned “Space Force” is unclear, though creator Greg Daniels says he is certainly hoping for a few more seasons.
