Netflix is reportedly onboard the early in development live-action feature film adaptation of the classic Capcom video game series “Mega Man”.

IGN reports that according to sources familiar with the project, the film is still very early in development and has yet to be confirmed.

Rockman Corner first discovered that the website of the film’s production company Supermarche seemingly let slip about the partnership during a recent update. The posting indicates filmmakers Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman and their in-house producer Orlee-Rose Strauss have an active development slate and:

“Features in the works include an adaptation of Capcom’s Mega Man for Chernin Entertainment and Netflix, which they wrote and are directing.”

The live-action “Mega Man” movie was first announced back in 2018 around the time of the release of the “Mega Man 11” game. Joost and Schulman were set to write and direct the movie which had been set up at 20th Century Fox.

Joost and Schulman confirmed that the movie was still in development last year. The pair also made the film “Project Power” for Netflix.
