Netflix’s early pandemic docuseries sensation “Tiger King” is coming back.

The streaming giant has announced that “Tiger King 2” will be coming to the service sometime before the end of 2021. Directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin are returning as are producers Chris Smith, Fisher Stevens, Goode and Chaiklin.

Specifics of what the series contain aren’t available but will likely continue the wild tale of Joe Exotic and rival private zookeeper Carole Baskin. PETA has released an official statement in response to the news which you can read by visiting Peta.org.

64 million households have tuned in to date to watch the original seven episode series which also saw an ‘aftershow’ special dubbed “The Tiger King and I” added at a later date.

“Tiger King 2” marks the first of five new true-crime docuseries heading to Netflix over the next year, each of which focuses on: “cons, scams and cautionary tales.”

Others include “The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman” about an audacious conmen who stole fortunes and was convicted in 2005, and “The Tinder Swindler” about a conman who posed as a billionaire playboy on Tinder.

There’s also “Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King” about a group of investors looking into the suspicious death of cryptocurrency multimillionaire Gerry Cotten, and “Bad Vegan” about a celebrity restauranteur conned out of millions by a man who promised to make her beloved pit bull immortal.

The latter four are scheduled for release sometime in 2022.
