Recently, the news came that Paramount Pictures, now flush with cash from the Skydance merger, was looking into buying Warner Bros. Discovery as a whole.
Today, a new report at Puck is claiming that Netflix is one of several companies weighing a potential bid to buy Warner Bros. Pictures and its assets.
Stirring the pot on this report is that Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and WB’s David Zaslav were seen together at a sporting event this past weekend.
Unlike the Paramount bid, it’s presumed the Netflix bid would be for the ‘Streaming & Studios’ half of the company after the upcoming split.
No details on the exact bid or how serious it is have been reported. Warner has a market cap of $33 billion, but the Paramount/Skydance bid comes from Oracle founder Larry Ellison, who has an estimated net worth of $393 billion.
No official deals with any company are in place as at present.
