Netflix has begun rolling out a new feature dubbed ‘My Netflix’, which replaces the ‘Downloads’ tab on iOS apps starting today.
The new area is said to offer a “personalized home for downloads and ongoing viewing,” with the primary use for it being on-the-go viewing selections.
The key aim is to streamline the viewing experience with My List, Continue Watching and Watch It Again recommendations all included, and the tab will change and become more attuned to the user the more you interact with it.
Android phones and tablets will score the new feature in early August. After that, and should it be a success on mobile devices, Netflix will reportedly evaluate an expansion to connected devices for TV viewing.
Product Manager Edith Chao calls it a “one-stop shop tailored to you with easy shortcuts to help you choose what you want to watch.”
The update follows on from Netflix last week reporting it had added 5.9 million subscribers and now reaches more than 238 million worldwide.
