Netflix has acquired the film rights to Andy McDermott’s best-selling novel “The Hunt For Atlantis” with plans for an adaptation of the property as a franchise.
The novel is the first in the fifteen-book Wilde/Chase series. The story follows brilliant NYU grad student Nina Wilde and cavalier ex-SAS British bodyguard Eddie Chase who are being backed by a tech billionaire in a globe-trotting race to discover the legendary lost city.
Subsequent titles dealt with other famous mythical objects including Excalibur, Valhalla, the Fountain of Youth and El Dorado. Aaron Berg is writing and will also produce alongside Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan for 6th & Idaho and Mike Landry.
