20th Century Fox is in talks with “District 9” and “Elysium” helmer Neill Blomkamp to write the script and direct an adaptation of Thomas Sweterlitsch’s upcoming sci-fi novel “The Gone World”.
Chernin Entertainment will produce the sci-fi time travel procedural, though specifics of the plot are under wraps. Sweterlitsch’s previous book “Tomorrow and Tomorrow” is being setup as a film at TriStar.
Blomkamp last directed “Chappie” and had been developing a direct follow-up to “Aliens” until Ridley Scott effectively put that project on ice in favor of his “Prometheus” sequel.
