Actor Liam Neeson, out doing promotion for the action feature “The Marksman,” has confirmed he’d be up for reprising his role of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn from “Star Wars: Episode One – The Phantom Menace”.
Collider asked him if he was aware that fans clamour for his return to which he replied: “I’ll be honest with you: I haven’t heard that at all” and then asked if “Star Wars [is] starting to fade away from [the] cinema landscape.”
Upon explaining all the new movies and TV shows set in that universe that were recently announced, he was asked if he’d be up for appearing in a flashback in the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series. The outlet says: “At that point, a smile spread across Neeson’s face and he answered, ‘Sure, I’d be up for that, yeah.'”
Ten “Star Wars” projects were announced at Disney Investor Day 2020, one of the high profile ones being the Obi-Wan Kenobi series set a few years after the prequels. Lucasfilm has also issued a new official timeline (see below) naming the different eras the various films are set in.
Neeson has shown he’s up for a cameo in films, notably reprising his “Batman Begins” role of Ra’s al Ghul seven years later in “The Dark Knight Rises” for a single scene involving a hallucination.
