In a week in which seemingly dozens of cancellations of TV series old and new took place, none really got more of a reaction of “Nooo!!!” than NBC’s decision to axe its freshman historical time travel series “Timeless” a few days ago.
Well the network brass has heard the response it seems. Executive producer/co-creator Eric Kripke took to Twitter a few hours ago and revealed that following negotiations with Sony Pictures Television, the network has reversed their decision:
“The #TimeTeam went back 3 days, and changed history. @nbc picked us up for 10 episodes. Seriously. Airs next summer. #TimelessRenewed”
Kripke (“Supernatural”) and co-creator Shawn Ryan (“The Shield”) further updated the news, saying the premiere slot for the new episodes – down from the sixteen episode order of the first season – could either be Spring or Summer next year.
Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjic, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumi star in the series in which a scientist, a soldier and a history professor travel through time to pursue a fugitive intent on destroying America by attacking a generations old sinister organisation known as Rittenhouse.
The entire first season is currently available to watch on Hulu.
