“Napoleon” Featurette Focuses On Phoenix

Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures has released a new featurette for Ridley Scott’s historical epic biopic “Napoleon” starring Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix as the French military commander turned Emperor.

The clip goes into Phoenix’s performance along with getting quotes from his co-star and Oscar nominee Vanessa Kirby who plays Josephine in the film.

The film captures Bonaparte’s relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with Josephine (Vanessa Kirby).

It also showcases his visionary military and political tactics against some of the biggest practical battle sequences ever filmed. Unlike other Napoleon films in the past which generally focus on one battle, this will sport six across the film.

Tahar Rahim, Ben Miles, Ludivine Sagnier, Matthew Needham, Youssef Kerkour, Youssef Kerkour and Ian McNeice co-star. Sony will handle the film’s exclusive theatrical run starting November 22nd which will be followed at a later date by steaming exclusively on the Apple TV+ service.

Scott, meanwhile, is readying to get back to work on his “Gladiator” sequel, which was halfway through production before the actor’s strike shut it down.
