Kumail Nanjiani is set to both co-write and have a small role in a series adaptation of Image Comics title “Sex Criminals” which has landed a series order at Amazon Prime Video.
Nanjiani and his wife Emily V. Gordon, who co-wrote “The Big Sick,” are teaming again on this project alongside “Gotham” scribe Tze Chun.
An eight-episode order has been handed out for the series, which follows Suze, a normal girl with an extraordinary ability: when she has sex, she stops time.
One night, she meets Jon, who has the same gift. And so they do what any other couple would do in their situation: they rob banks.
Matt Fraction penned and Chip Zdarsky illustrated the 2013 comics while Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment label will produce.
Gordon, Nanjiani, Chun, Fraction, Zdarsky, Dani Gorin and Dani Melia will executive produce.
