“The Naked Gun” and “Airplane!” creative duo David Zucker and Pat Proft are re-teaming to executive produce the anthology comedy series “NoPoFo”.
The show will be a satire of the Nordic Noir genre that has become an industry in its own right in the past decade following the success of such Scandinavian series as the original “The Killing” and “The Bridge” among others along with “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” trilogy (all three pictured above).
Dubbed ‘Nordic Noir meets Police Squad!’, the ten-part half-hour series follows three elite agents from the Nordic Police Force (NoPoFo) tasked with solving various gruesome murders.
These range from a serial killer who only murders bad heavy rock bands, to an Instagram obsessive who makes ice sculptures out of his victims. Each episode unfolds in a different Nordic country and features a different cast of supporting characters.
lkkas’ Creative Studio and BBC Studios Nordics will co-produce the series which was created and is being written by stand-up comedians and screenwriters Mika Eirtovaara and Riku Suokas, along with screenwriter Heikki Syrjä (“Lakeside Murders”).
