Isaiah Mustafa (“It Chapter Two,” “Shadowhunters”) and Ryan Eggold (“New Amsterdam,” “The Blacklist”) will join Aldis Hodge in “Cross” for Amazon Prime, Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television.
Based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross series of novels, Hodge stars as the detective and forensic psychologist uniquely capable of digging into the minds of killers and victims.
Mustafa will play John Sampson, aka Two-John/Man-Mountain, who has been Alex’s partner on the police force and best friend of 30 years. In the series, Sampson thinks Cross is at a crisis point and needs to seek professional help.
Eggold plays Ed Ramsey, a charming, well-connected and devious Midwesterner who is sharp to move among elite social and political circles in Washington and New York. He also has some very dark secrets and becomes a formidable adversary for Cross.
Ben Watkins (“Truth Be Told,” “Hand of God”) serves as showrunner, and executive produces alongside Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, Craig Siebels, Patterson, Bill Robinson, Patrick Santa, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell.
