Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan will play the journalists who exposed former movie mogul Harvey Weinstein in “She Said” from Universal Pictures, Annapurna Pictures and Plan B Entertainment.
The pair are in final negotiations to star as New York Times reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor respectively. Their landmark October 2017 expose, a series of stories combined with a follow-up piece by Ronan Farrow for The New Yorker, ignited the flame of the #MeToo movement and won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service.
Oscar-winner Rebecca Lenkiewicz (“Ida”) is penning the script with Maria Schrader (“Unorthodox”) directing and the project is set to begin production this summer. Megan Ellison, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sue Naegle will executive produce.
