“Mulan” Remake Scores A PG-13

The Motion Picture Association of America has handed out a PG-13 rating to Disney’s live-action “Mulan” remake, the rating given for “sequences of violence”.

This marks the first of Disney’s live-action remakes of animated classics to receive a rating above PG – and the first non-Marvel or “Star Wars” title from Disney’s live-action studio to receive PG-13 since “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” back in 2017.

The film has been in the news again lately over concerns regarding its box office performance due to the coronavirus outbreak in China, with delays for it and Bond film “No Time to Die” potentially happening. The movie is currently tracking for a $40-60 million opening according to long-range forecasts.
