“Ms. Marvel” Coming To ABC In August

ABC has announced that it will air the entire first season of the Disney+ original series “Ms. Marvel” across two Saturdays in August.

The first three episodes will debut on Saturday August 5th, whilst the final three will follow on Saturday August 12th. The airing follows just over a year after the series made its debut on the Disney+ service.

Newcomer Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City and a huge fan of the Avengers who one day gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.

This marks the first time one of the streamer’s Marvel Studios properties has been broadcast in full on network television. Most streamers have limited it to only an episode or two, such as with “The Mandalorian,” “Star Trek: Discovery,” “The Good Fight” and “The Resort”.

However, with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes playing havoc with Fall schedules, this sort of thing could become more common in the coming weeks and months.

Though scoring much acclaim, the series had easily the lowest debut of any MCU Disney+ series to date, according to analytics firm Samba TV, which indicated it debuted to just over half the viewership of “Hawkeye”. That said, it was hit with its Gen Z target audience, with viewers aged 20-24 tuning in at the highest rate of any MCU show on Disney+ to date.
