MRC has permanently shelved an already completed documentary about rapper Kanye “Ye” West following his recent string of antisemitic comments and the increasing controversy surrounding the musician.
In a lengthy open letter released earlier today by MRC studio executives, they convey their disgust over West’s words in recent weeks and confirmed they had “made the decision not to proceed with any distribution”.
West has reportedly made headlines lately for a slew of insensitive remarks regarding the Jewish community in a now-deleted along with comments from several interviews.
MRC is the latest in a line of companies to drop West with Adidas joining the fray today. The fitnesswear company is expected to be impacted by up to $246 million this year alone as a result. The full open letter to West is up on Twitter.
