What am I bid?
A New York bankruptcy judge has approved the sale of the iconic Moviefone movie listings service for $1 million. An unknown company called Born In Cleveland LLC put in the best of six bids for Moviefone on March 16th.
The sale comes as part of the bankruptcy of parent company Helios & Matheson Analytics which shot to fame by growing and then cratering the MoviePass subscription service which is reportedly next on the auction block.
Helios & Matheson filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy early this year which provides for the liquidation of a company’s assets to satisfy creditors.
