Universal Content Productions has announced that they are currently in the process of developing the limited thriller series “Candy,” which centers on real-life 1980 Texas axe killer Candy Montgomery, and have Golden Globe and Emmy-winning actress Elisabeth Moss attached to the title role.
Candy Montgomery was a Texan housewife who had it all – loving husband, good job, nice house, a daughter and a son. So why did she kill her friend from church with an ax?
UCP is planning to shop the series to networks and streaming platforms with Hulu being the likely candidate as the project is being made by Robin Veith and Nick Antosca who were behind Hulu’s acclaimed mini-series “The Act”.
Moss said in a statement that she’s “been wanting to play an anti-heroine for a while now”. Veith will pen while Moss, Antosca, Alex Hedlund, and Lindsey McManus executive produce.
