Following yesterday’s mock film poster “Uncaged Fury” showcasing Karl Urban’s take on the Johnny Cage character, a mock film trailer for that film has also been released.
Both serve as teasers for the upcoming fantasy action epic “Mortal Kombat II” which has also launched its first official poster today, and announced that the film’s first trailer is set to arrive online tomorrow morning at 9am US-PT following a one-hour ‘Kountdown’ kicking off at 8:05am.
Plot specifics are under wraps but the new film will revolve around the tournament and this time we can expect a few deaths and creative fatalities, though early screening reports suggest some of the core characters have relatively minimal screentime.
The cast includes Urban as Cage, Josh Lawson as Kano, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Noob Saibot and Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion.
New to the film are Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, CJ Bloomfield as Baraka and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana.
“Mortal Kombat II” is slated to open in cinemas on October 24th 2025.
