Simon McQuoid is set to return as director for the follow-up to his 2021 action-adventure hit adaptation of the “Mortal Kombat” video game series at New Line.
McQuoid made his feature directorial debut on the first film which was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max in April ast year – topping the box-office and ranking among the top feature titles ever on HBO Max.
Jeremy Slater is writing the screenplay for the sequel, taking over from Greg Russo and Dave Callaham. McQuoid, James Wan, Todd Garner and E. Bennett Walsh will produce.
