“The Book of Boba Fett” star Temuera Morrison has been cast as King Kahekili, the King of Maui, in the Apple TV+ limited series “Chief of War”.
Created by Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, the eight-episode series follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.
Momoa, reuniting with Morrison whom he worked with on “Aquaman,” will write and executive produce the series which is being backed by Fifth Season and Chernin Entertainment.
Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg, Justin Chon and Doug Jung also executive produce with Chon directing the first two episodes and Jung serving as showrunner.
