Colin Morgan, Aml Ameen, Felicity Jones, Mark Strong, Sophia Brown, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor will lead “Top Boy” creator Ronan Bennett’s new Sky Original action thriller for “Borderland”.
“Three Families,” “The Fall” and “Merlin” star Morgan plays a retired Irish paramilitary who witnesses the execution of his pregnant wife by an SAS officer (Ameen) when an ambush goes awry. Wounded and presumed dead himself, he takes his revenge to the dark streets of 1970s London.
The Guard Brothers are directing the movie, calling it a “vengeance-fuelled chase movie, fusing pulse-ticking action with a powerful message for our times”. Filming is now underway in Glasgow.
Morgan and Ameen take over roles originally slated for Jack Reynor (“Midsommar”) and “Star Wars” alum John Boyega back in 2020.
