EuropaCorp and Village Roadshow are partnering to develop and produce a spinoff series based on Luc Besson’s action thriller “Lucy” which grossed over $460 million worldwide at the box office.
Morgan Freeman is in advanced negotiations to star in the series, reprising his role of the wise Professor Norman from the original.
Scarlett Johansson starred in the first film as a woman who gains psychokinetic skills when a drug is absorbed into her bloodstream and she starts unlocking her full brain capacity.
Plot details of the series are under wraps. Freeman most recently appeared in the action film “Paradise Highway” alongside Juliette Binoche and Frank Grillo.
