Amy Adams, Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler are set to join Robert Pattinson and Robert Downey Jr. in filmmaker Adam McKay’s next project – the serial killer thriller/dark comedy “Average Height, Average Build”.
The new film will follow a killer who uses political lobbyists to change laws in order to make it easier for him to kill. As per most of McKay’s recent output like “The Big Short,” “Don’t Look Up” and “Vice,” this will tackle sociopolitical issues – in this case crime and corruption.
The script reportedly is a major ensemble and so will require a lot more actors for supporting roles. McKay wrote the script and will direct the film which is currently out seeking a studio or streamer.
McKay says the project would appeal to both sides of the political spectrum, but apparently not everyone who has read it agrees.
Several have already passed on it while others are taking more time to work out the economics of the film which are reportedly expensive.
Should it go to a streamer, the cast would require significant up-front buy-outs which is likely why Netflix isn’t jumping at this despite the success of McKay’s “Don’t Look Up”.
Filming aims to beg in the late summer in Boston.
