More “Indiana Jones 5” Photos, Story Details

Following yesterday’s Empire cover story art and a new photo of Harrison Ford in the fifth “Indiana Jones,” two more shots have been released from the film of some of the supporting characters.

Specifically the new shots show off Mads Mikkelsen and Boyd Holbrook in their roles in the highly anticipated sequel. Further details about the film’s story and setting have also been released by Empire today.

The magazine reports that despite being set in 1969, the film will still utilise Nazis as villains. Specifically the film unfolds against the backdrop of the space race and acclaimed writer Jez Butterworth who penned the script, explains:

“The simple fact is that the moon-landing program is run by a bunch of ex-Nazis. How ‘ex’ they are is the question. And it gets up Indy’s nose.”

Mikkelsen stars as the lead villain Voller, a character inspired in part by real-life Nazi-turned-NASA-engineer Wernher von Braun. Of his character, Mikkelsen says:

“He’s a man who would like to correct some of the mistakes of the past. There is something that could make the world a much better place to live in. He would love to get his hands on it. Indiana Jones wants to get his hands on it as well. And so, we have a story.”

Boyd Holbrook plays the nefarious Klaber, a character the actor describes as a “lapdog to Mads, and a crazy one at that”. The photo shows off one of the film’s major action set-piece which unfolds at the Apollo 11 ticker tape parade in New York, thrown to celebrate the astronauts on 13th August 1969.

The film has no official title as yet, though a year ago (via TheRaider.Net), one rumored title (which director James Mangold seemingly debunked) was “Indiana Jones and the Eye of Apollo” which would fit the story details.

Whatever it is called, the fifth “Indiana Jones” film will open in cinemas everywhere next Summer.
