The first tracking figures are in and “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” is reportedly looking at a domestic opening weekend of around $60 million with others estimates ranging the gamut from $48-65 million.
That’s on par with the series with the most recent entry “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” opening to $55.5 million. The record opening for the franchise thus far is the second one with $57.8 million, the lowest being ‘Ghost Protocol’ with $29.6 million (though that opened in limited release the week before).
Both the last two films have reliably earned around $200 million domestically and a further $485 million overseas. The entire franchise to date has grossed $2.78 billion worldwide.
‘Fallout’ screened for press in Paris recently to a very enthusiastic reaction, though full reviews aren’t out yet. A new clip and featurette are out though and can be seen below. The film opens July 27th.
