Three weeks ago came the news that the seventh “Mission: Impossible” feature had to halt production due to the coronavirus outbreak in Italy, the film becoming the first major shoot to shut down due to the pandemic.
In the time since, almost all film and TV production has shuttered in the past few weeks with plans for 2-3 week hiatuses. Well it seems the ‘Mission’ hiatus is up as The Daily Mail has posted photos of Cruise and the crew having done some sort of level of production in the UK as they carry out some stunt driving work around the Dunsfold track in Surrey often used for BBC’s “Top Gear”.
The sequence appeared to be a chase scene involving a motorcycle, a car, a mini, an orange helicopter and even a plane. It is assumed that everyone on the crew is taking proper health safety measures which allows the Christopher McQuarrie-helmed project to resume at least some shooting.
Head over to The Daily Mail for more photos.
UPDATE: Paramount reached out to Collider and says that overall filming has not resumed and the photos are a test for a stunt rig to be used at a later date.
