Amanda Milius’ AMDC Films has acquired the film and TV rights to Mark Eglinton’s new book “No Domain” with plans to develop both a feature narrative film and a companion documentary based on it.

The book features hours of taped interviews with John McAfee, the infamous anti-virus software pioneer, entrepreneur and two-time presidential candidate who lived for years in a jungle compound in Belize, and died in an apparent suicide in a Spanish prison this past June.

The hours of conversations between Eglinton and McAfee took place in 2019 while the latter was in hiding. The interviews cover his whole life from an LSD overdose that changed his life, to working on CIA dark programs, to evading various pursuers including a Mexican cartel. The book will be released in January.

Milius, daughter of the legendary “Apocalypse Now” writer and “Conan the Barbarian” director John Milius, will make the companion features as her follow-up to last year’s documentary feature “The Plot Against the President”.
