Filmmaker Mike Flanagan has confirmed that he has wrapped filming on his upcoming TV series adaptation of Stephen King’s first novel “Carrie”.

In a posting on Instagram, the “Midnight Mass” and “Fall of the House of Usher” creator/writer/director posted a photo of a set chair laced in blood with his name on it and the caption “Our last day of filming on CARRIE”.

He adds: “This has been one of the best experiences of my career, one of the very best ensembles I’ve ever worked with, and already one of my favorite projects ever. Cannot wait for you guys to see what we made.”

The project marks his first limited series adaptation at Amazon following a long history with Netflix. Flanagan also recently helmed the Tom Hiddleston-led King adaptation “The Life of Chuck”.

Past Flanagan collaborators like Rahul Kohli, Katee Sackhoff, Kate Siegel, Michael Trucco, Crystal Balint, Tahmoh Penikett and Danielle Klaudt are involved alongside Summer Howell in the title role, Samantha Sloyan as the mother.

Delainey Hayles, Heather Graham, Matthew Lillard, Amber Midthunder, Alison Thornton, Thalia Dudek, Siena Agudong, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Joel Oulette, Tim Bagley, Mapuana Makia, Naika Toussaint, Cassandra Naud and newcomer Rowan Danielle co-star.

Flanagan serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner while also directing select episodes. The eight-episode series reimagines the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White, who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother.

After her father’s sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public high school, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.
