Michael Gandolfini (“The Many Saints Of Newark”) has reportedly landed a major role opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in the revival series “Daredevil: Born Again” at Marvel Studios and on the Disney+ service.
Written and executive produced by “Covert Affairs” creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the new installment centers on Cox’s Matt Murdock – an attorney by day and crimefighter Daredevil by night.
D’Onofrio reprises his role as mob boss Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Details on Gandolfini’s character are under wraps, though rumored to be “an ambitious guy from Staten Island referred to as Liam”.
The eighteen-episode season will be in production next year and is slated to premiere in 2024 – four years after the original “Daredevil” series ended its run.
Gandolfini, son of the late James Gandolfini, was recently seen in the film “Cherry” and the Paramount+ limited series “The Offer”.
