Mia Goth: “MaXXXine” To Be Trilogy’s Best

“MaXXXine,” the final instalment of Ti West’s character-centric slasher reinvention trilogy that began with “X” and “Pearl,” will be the best of the three, according to its star Mia Goth.

The new film will unfold in 1980s Los Angeles and will follow Maxine as she battles her inner demons and chases her acting ambitions in Hollywood.

Speaking with Variety whilst out promoting her new film “Infinity Pool,” Goth confirms that filming on the project will begin shortly and says: “It’s the best script of the three by far. It’s going [to] be the best movie of the three.”

She also promises that despite the setting change, don’t expect this to short-change its audience on any of the terror from the previous films:

“It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes, and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with, and she goes through some pretty wild adventures.”

Goth also says, like with the last two films, much of the same crew is all coming back together for this one, and she can’t wait to work with them again:

“We’re all so tight now. This is going to be our third movie we’re working on together and everyone’s coming back together, so it’s bringing the band all back together again.”

Whilst the personnel may be the same, West tells Empire that the new film will be as different from the other two as “Pearl” was from “X”. He also says the world of straight-to-video plays a key role in the film’s events.

“MaXXXine” currently does not have a release date.
