After various stops and starts due to the pandemic, the seventh film in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise is finally nearing completion of filming.
Originally the plan was to shoot the franchise’s eighth entry in the series back-to-back with the seventh. However, that plan has been slightly changed by Paramount Pictures.
The seventh film has wrapped a Middle East location shoot with cast and crew now travelling back to the UK to apply some “finishing touches” to the film. Once done in the next few weeks, Tom Cruise will then head out on promotional duties for “Top Gun: Maverick” opening in early July.
The plan is now for Cruise to finish those media commitments first and then head into production on the eighth ‘Mission’ film. The short production gap is not expected to be majorly impactful.
Recent UK tabloid reports this weekend claiming the production had been disrupted by pandemic-related travel issues recently have been shot down.
“Mission: Impossible 7” is on track for a planned November 19th release this year. The eighth film remains set for November 4th 2022.
