Ian McKellen and filmmaker Bill Condon are re-teaming for Disney’s live-action adaptation of their animated feature “Beauty and the Beast”.
In the original film, Cogsworth was the Beast’s loyal butler who was transformed into a clock by a curse that overtook the castle. He was voiced by David Ogden Stiers.
McKellen joins a cast that includes the likes of Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Josh Gad and Emma Thompson. Condon helms from a script written by Evan Spiliotopoulos and rewritten by Stephen Chbosky.
David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing and shooting begins in the UK this Summer.
