McHale To Lead FOX’s “Animal Control”

The CW

“Community” and “Stargirl” alum Joel McHale is returning to broadcast comedy, scoring the lead role in the FOX comedy series “Animal Control”.

Ordered straight-to-series, the single-camera workplace comedy will debut midseason on the network and follows a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not.

McHale plays Frank, an opinionated, cynical, curmudgeonly former cop turned officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. He also has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals – but doesn’t do so well with humans.

Dan Sterling, Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Tad Quill executive produce alongside McHale.
